SATURDAY 6TH APRIL 2019
Join Mad About Cork for a citywide community clean-up day this April. We’re hoping to encourage individuals, resident associations, businesses, schools, and clubs of all sorts to get out in their community and take on a project that shows we care about our city. If there is a park that needs cleaning, a green area that can be planted up, or a wall that needs repainting, let’s get organised and transform Cork with plants and colour!
PROJECTS IDEAS…
Some ideas that can make a big difference include:
- a litter-pickup
- wildflower planting
- businesses creating parklets outside their premises for the day
- graffiti removal
- repainting old buildings
- anything that can make an improvement to the local environment!
Essentially, this project will be yours. Mad About Cork will help in any way we can by offering support, advice, and materials where possible.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
INDIVIDUALS
You can help by joining in and volunteering at one of the projects on the day or by organizing an event in your own community.
BUSINESSES
If you are looking for a way to give back to the community, this is your chance. Is there something on your street that can be done to improve it that will benefit everyone? Are your staff interested in helping out? Can you donate refreshments to volunteers on the day? Can you donate prizes for people who take part? Have you any other ideas? If so get in touch!
COMMUNITY GROUPS, CLUBS AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS
With so many community groups already doing wonderful work across the city all year round, what better way to celebrate Cork’s volunteer spirit by coming together on a single day across the city and transforming our areas. With this in mind, we’d love to see other community groups get involved with this by organising an event in their area and encouraging new volunteers to come out.
